"Harley Quinn: Birds Of Prey"

Ranked as the lowest opening weekend gross for any 'DC Extended Universe' film, director Cathy Yan's R-rated, $85 million budgeted "Birds of Prey" feature, based on the DC Comics characters, earned $33 million domestic and $46 million international for a worldwide total of $79 million, prompting Warners to retitle the film as "Harley Quinn: Birds Of Prey", banking on the star power of actress Margot Robbie:

Notwithstanding Robbie's bubbly personality, babydoll beauty and recent Oscar-nominated turn in the anti-Fox News box office loser "Bombshell", it seems fanboys prefer their super-powered females as 'companions' rather than 'competitors' in the brains and brawn department.

"...since the events of 'Suicide Squad', 'Batman' has disappeared, leaving 'Gotham City' unprotected from crime...

"...while 'Harley Quinn' has left the 'Joker'. Then when young 'Cassandra Cain comes across a diamond belonging to crime lord 'Black Mask'...

"...Harley joins forces with 'Black Canary', 'Huntress'...

"....and 'Renee Montoya' to help protect her..."

Cast also includes Ella Jay Basco, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina and Ewan McGregor.

...Charlene Amoia as 'Maria Bertinelli', with Talon Reid, Steven Williams, Derek Wilson, Dana Lee, François Chau, Matthew Willig, Robert Catrini and Ali Wong.
