A&E Inducing Scott's "Coma"

A&E reports that brothers Ridley and Tony Scott of Scott Free will produce a TV remake of director Michael Chrichton's feature "Coma".

"Coma", released in 1978, was based on the "Coma" novel, by author Robin Cook. Film rights were acquired by Crichton and the movie was produced by Martin Erlichmann for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The cast included Geneviève Bujold, Michael Douglas, Elizabeth Ashley, Meshach Taylor, Richard Widmark, Rip Torn and Tom Selleck.

"...a young female doctor discovers something sinister going on in her hospital. Relatively healthy patients are having 'complications' during simple operations and ending up in comas. The patients are then shipped off to an institute that looks after them. The young doctor suspects there is more to this than meets the eye..."
