Toronto's third annual "Rebelfest International Film Festival" wrapped September 10 with a charity screening of "White Shadows", a portrayal of 'Dalee Henderson'.
Proceeds of the screening went to Dignitas International.
Actor Tom Sizemore, who introduced the film, said he was proud to support such a wonderful cause and understood what it is like to be 'marginalized'.
The screening was followed by the award ceremony, where Sizemore of "Saving Private Ryan" fame was presented with the 2nd Annual 'Equinoxe Rebel Award' by actor Chris Potter. Potter was introduced by Festival Director Grace Kosaka and Marie-Claude Poulin, Equinoxe VP of Distribution.
"We are very proud to present the Equinoxe Rebel Award to Tom Sizemore for his outstanding contribution to the art of film," said Poulin.
Kosaka added, "We were delighted to give Tom the Equinoxe Rebel Award. Just watching the brief montage of his work is incredibly moving and reminds us of what a true artist he is."
In his acceptance speech, a humble Sizemore spoke passionately about his love of film and acting. He also spoke candidly about recent personal events and that in spite of these challenges, his life has been consumed by the pursuit of 'perfection' in the craft of acting.
