“Shantaram” on AppleTV+

"Shantaram" is the new10-episode dramatic thriller TV series, created by Eric Warren Singer and Steve Lightfoot, based on the novel by Gregory David Roberts, directed by Justin Kurzel and Bharat Nalluri, starring Charlie Hunnam ("Sons of Anarachy"), now streaming on AppleTV+:

"...in 1978, 'Roberts' was sentenced to a 19-year imprisonment in Australia convicted of a series of armed robberies. July 1980, he escaped from 'Victoria's Pentridge Prison' in broad daylight, becoming one of Australia's most wanted men. When Roberts arrives in Bombay, he carries a false passport in the name of 'Lin Ford' and decides to stay in the city, one step ahead of the authorities..."
