"Raya and the Last Dragon" is the upcoming computer-animated fantasy feature, inspired by the Southeast Asian cultures of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Laos, produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Walt Disney Animation Studios for distribution by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, co-directed by Paul Briggs and John Ripa, starring Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina, releasing March 12, 2021:
"...in the land of 'Kumandra', a re-imagined Earth inhabited by an ancient civilization split into five different regions, lived 'Raya', a fearless loner, passionate warrior and daughter of a powerful chief. Raya lived with her animal sidekick, 'Tuk Tuk' and when an evil force threatens her kingdom, the two decide to leave their 'Heart Lands' home and track down the last dragon to stop the villainous 'Druun'. In adventure and search, she finally finds a water dragon, 'Sisu', in the form of a human being. Sisu needs Raya's help to reclaim her power and become her true dragon self. Together with Sisu, Raya has to save her kingdom, once and for all..."
