Bad Guys Rule The Big and Small Screen

While it’s easy to root for the good guy, sometimes the actor playing 'the bad guy' is just too compelling to ignore. Whether it's evil charisma or razor-sharp intelligence, there's always something about the bad guy that audiences can't seem to get enough of.

It takes a special someone to really pull off the bad guy, especially one who the fans secretly root for. The actor taking on the part has to be able to balance reality with obscurity to truly take over the role. Here are some favorite bad guys from the big and small screen – and what makes them irresistible..."

Heath Ledger as 'The Joker':

An actor who was only just coming into his own before his sudden and shocking death, it was Ledger’s performance in "The Dark Knight" for which he will always be remembered for.

Obscuring his movie star good looks to encompass a psychotic character, Ledger cemented 'The Joker' as one of the greatest bad guys of all time. He might not be the biggest or the strongest, but his demented sense of humor definitely makes him the most evil.

Bryan Cranston as 'Walter White':

Transforming from an incredibly sympathetic character to one of the most relentless villains on television, Bryan Cranston alongside writer and creator Vince Gilligan have created one of the best TV shows of all time with "Breaking Bad".

In the beginning Cranston played 'Walter White' as a weak, cancer-ridden nobody who didn’t dare say boo to a goose. Now that the finale has arrived, he’s an all-powerful, incredibly masculine and terrifying drug lord. The actor now has fans all across the world, with his manly persona shining through.

Lena Heady as 'Cersei Lannister':

No one character in TV phenomenon "Game of Thrones" is purely good or purely evil, but when it comes to 'Cersei Lannister', she’s pretty close to as evil as you can get (don’t forget – she raised 'Joffrey'!).

It’s her love for her children which redeems this character, and Lena Heady’s performance has the perfect balance between cruelty and desperation. So although we can’t quite hate 'Cersei', we don't feel sorry for her either.
