"Homeland", developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa is based on the Israeli TV series "Prisoners of War", created by Gideon Raff. Showtime's "Homeland" stars Claire Danes ("Temple Grandin") as 'Carrie Mathison', a 'Central Intelligence Agency' officer and Damian Lewis ("Band Of Brothers") as 'Nicholas Brody', a US Marine.
Carrie believes that Brody, who was held captive as a prisoner of war, was 'turned' by the enemy and now threatens the United States.
"Homeland" won the 2012 'Primetime Emmy Award' for Outstanding Drama Series, the 'Golden Globe Award' for Best Television Series – Drama and a 'Primetime Emmy Award' for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Lewis) and for Lead Actress in a Drama Series (Danes).
