Slade Sees "Daredevil" Born Again

Development continues on the 20th Century Fox big screen reboot of Marvel Comics' blind, super-powered hero, "Daredevil", to be directed by David Slade.

The screenplay is based on the Frank Miller/David Mazzucchelli "Born Again" storyline, from Marvel Comics'  1986  "Daredevil" series, issues #227-233.

That story arc follows the 'Kingpin' discovering Daredevil’s true identity.

This results in Daredevil's life turning upside-down.

The original 2003 Fox feature "Daredevil", based on the Marvel Comics character, sees the character take on the 'Kingpin', hoping his lover 'Elektra' is still alive, with the killer  'Bullseye' recovering in a hospital ward.
Debuting April 1, 1964 in Marvel Comics series, "Daredevil" was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and illustrator Bill Everett, with input from Marvel 'Bullpen' artist Jack "King" Kirby.

Other illustrators contributed to the series notably Gene Colan, Wally Wood and Frank Miller.

"...Living in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City, Matt Murdock is blinded by a radioactive substance that falls from an oncoming vehicle. Yet while he no longer can see, the radioactive exposure heightens his remaining senses beyond normal human ability.

"His father, a boxer named 'Jack Murdock', supports him as he grows up, though he is later killed by gangsters after refusing to throw a fight.

"After donning a yellow/black, and later a dark red, costume, Matt seeks out revenge against his father's killers as the superhero Daredevil..."
