Farrellys Prep "The Three Stooges"

The upcoming 20th Century Fox live-action comedy "The Three Stooges" from directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly ("Dumb And Dumber"), will start shooting this month (May 2011).

Starring cast includes Toronto-born actor Chris Diamantopoulos ("24") as 'Moe', Will Sasso ("MadTV") as 'Curly' and Sean Hayes ("Will And Grace") as 'Larry'.

Writer/actor Larry David ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") will play 'Mother Mengele', the nun who runs the orphanage where the 'Stooges' grow up, under the supervision of Jane Lynch ("Glee") as 'Mother Superior'.

Fox acquired The Farrelly's "Three Stooges" project from MGM, with a screenplay co-written by the brothers and Mike Cerrone.

"It’s not a biopic," said Peter Farrelly. "It takes place in present day, and they will look, dress and sound exactly like the original Stooges..."

Filming is set to start in Atlanta, Georgia, for producers Bradley Thomas, Charles B. Wessler and Earl Benjamin.
