Gary Sanchez Productions has confirmed that actress Famke Janssen ("X-Men") has been cast as the leader of a coven of 'witches' in the upcoming comedy-action, horror feature "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters", to be directed by Norwegian filmmaker Tommy Wirkola ("Dead Snow"), co-starring Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner.
Slated for a 2012 Paramount release, the new feature is a continuation of the classic children fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel" by the Brothers Grimm, produced by Will Ferrell, Chris Henchy, Adam McKay and Kevin J. Messick. Screenplay is by D.W. Harper and Wirkola.
