Quigley Publishing Co.'s annual selection of the top money making screen actor for the year, based on a poll of hundreds of theatre executives, ranks actress Sandra Bullock as the number one earner on the strength of recent roles in "The Proposal" and "The Blind Side."
Since its June release, Touchstone's romantic comedy "The Proposal" has earned $315 million worldwide and Warners football drama "The Blind Side" earned $193 million in North America since Nov. 20, with an international rollout prepping for 2010.
Quigley's list of top money-making stars, put out each year since 1932, is based not so much on how much box office cash a film earns, but on what theatre owners say about who attracts audiences 'on star power alone'.Before "The Proposal" and "The Blind Side", Bullock had not starred in a film since 2007.
