DirecTV will debut North America's first 3D HD TV channel this March, following the December 28 space launch of a program satellite carrying the signal.
Programming will feature movies, sports and programs in HD 3D, meeting new 3D standards that a majority of television manufacturers support.DirecTV’s current HDTV boxes will receive an upgrade to allow the existing subscriber base to receive HD 3D programming, compatible with the new 3D capable HDTVs from Panasonic, Sony and Samsung as well as existing Mitsubishi DLP models accompanied by a 3D converter box.
