Universal's "Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant" is the 2009 film adaptation of the first three books in the "Saga of Darren Shan" series by author Darren Shan.The fantasy-adventure follows a teenager who unknowingly breaks a 200-year-old truce between two warring factions of vampires, then pulled into a life of sideshow freaks and grotesque creatures.
