Director Jon "Iron Man" Favreau and actor Robert Downey Jr. will re-team for the DreamWorks 'tentpole' feature "Cowboys & Aliens," based on the 2006 Platinum Studios Comics release from writers Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley.
Favreau will begin work on the feature after wrapping up "Iron Man 2".
Premise of the original comic book focuses on an extraterrestrial species that lands in Arizona during the mid-1800's.
"...While the aliens plan to quash the 'Wild West' and enslave humanity, the cowboys and native Apache have other plans..."
