"Surrogates" is the upcoming science fiction feature, based on the 2005–2006 Top Shelf comic book series of the same name, directed by Jonathan "Terminator 3" Mostow, starring actor Bruce Willis.
Premise of the film is set in the year 2017, where humans live in near-total isolation, only communicating with other people through remotely-controlled robotic bodies that serve as 'surrogates', designed as better-looking versions of their human operators.
'Agent Greer' (Willis) is an FBI investigator who enlists the aid of his own surrogate to look into the death of a college student who invented the surrogates.
The case grows more complicated when more humans are eliminated and their surrogates destroyed.
Greer discovers that in order to actually catch the criminal responsible, he will have to physically venture outside the safety of his home for the first time in years, enlisting the aid of another agent to track his target down."Surrogates" is scheduled for a September 25, 2009 release.
