According to reports, actor Robert "Iron Man" Downey Jr. will play the vampire character 'Lestat Du Lioncort' in Universal Pictures upcoming reboot of author Anne Rice's "The Vampire Chronicles".
Lestat was previously played by actor Tom Cruise in a 1994 adaptation of Rice's "Interview with the Vampire" and by actor Stuart Townsend in the 2002 feature "Queen of the Damned".The 'Lestat' novels include "The Tale of the Body Thief," "The Vampire Armand," "Merrick," "Blood and Gold" and "Blackwood Farm".
A series of Anne Rice novels, including the 'Lestat' stories were previously published as graphic novels by Innovation.
