Actress Jennifer Aniston will star in the true story of an all-female country band who performed in a Texas prison during the 1940s.
"Goree Girls" will chronicle the band's formation, through to their rise in popularity and eventual pardon, to be directed by Emmy-nominated Michael "Grey Gardens" Sucsy.
Production starts in January.
"There is something about music that invigorates the spirit to keep going, even when you don't have freedom, " said Sucsy.
