According to Steve Tihanyi, director of General Motors media operations/branded entertainment, GM did not have to pay a 'placement fee' to get their vehicles in director Michael Bay's "Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen".
Bay only asked permission to use GM's designs and for the manufacturer to provide camera-ready cars.
“If there is any cost involved, it’s in the delivery of the vehicles,” GM's Tihanyi said. "Its a fraction of what it would cost to pay for a placement.”
