According to Telefilm, Trailer Park Boys: The Movie 2 aka "Countdown To Liquor Day" has received $3,497,846 from the Canada Feature Film Fund (CFFF) Main Program.

A project of Trailer Park Productions Limited/Topsail Entertainment Limited, the movie started principal photography in Halifax, Nova Scotia August 25th, 2008, written/directed by creator Mike Clattenburg.

Co-writers were "TPB" actors John Paul Tremblay, Robb Wells, Mike Smith and Timm Hannebohm. Producers were Clattenburg, actor Barrie Dunn and Michael Volpe .

"...'Trailer Park Boys 2' begins with 'Julian', 'Ricky' and 'Bubbles', newly released from jail and brimming with optimism about their prospects for the future.

"The Trailer Park Boys" began their rise to fame and fortune when producer Barrie Dunn convinced Clattenburg to turn an award-winning short film into a TV series.

In 2001, 'Trailer Park Boys' debuted on Showcase Television, with the story premise of a documentary camera crew recording the public/private doings of 3 drunken/stoned out guys.

After six successful seasons, the boys made the leap to the big screen courtesy producer Ivan "Stripes" Reitman, where their debut achieved the biggest opening weekend box office in Canadian film history.

Alliance Films will release the new film across Canada October 2009.

“'The Trailer Park Boys' are funny and profane, the perfect anti-heroes," said Victor Loewy, Chairman and CEO, Alliance Films.

"We are delighted that they and the talented production team have agreed to make a movie sequel. I’m confident that audiences will love this story which is even more outrageous than the last film..."
