Actress Keira Knightley is in negotiations to play 'Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald' in "The Beautiful and the Damned", for director Nick "The Notebook" Cassavetes and the Film Department company.
Screenplay is by Hanna Weg.
"Damned" follows Zelda Sayre and author 'F. Scott Fitzgerald', who became Jazz Age icons, with a courtship and marriage filled with acrimony. Fitzgerald used their relationship as material for his novels, as did Sayre, who tried to find an artistic identity of her own and ended up being admitted to a sanitarium...
