Once a week this summer, SkyLounge will be lighting the candles and turning up the music for Grill Thursdays. Join us as we honour the grill with a night of sizzling, savory fare prepared on our patio lounge.

Sneak Peek's Norma Dell'Agnese reporting from Toronto:

Once a week this summer, the Intercontinental Hotel Bloor/Avenue Road will be hosting some great get-togethers on their main floor SkyLounge. And at a particular 'Grill Thursdays' event, the place was hopping!

Indoors the candlelit seating arrangements created a sophisticated and casual atmosphere, with upbeat music that wasn't too loud for intimate conversations.

Outdoors, the main floor patio lounge featured elegant and comfy seating, shielded from the busy street nearby.

The staff was terrific, going out of their way to give prompt service with a smile and a joke: none of that uptight Toronto attitude here.

And yes, the mojito drinks were flowing. On the grill were all kinds of tasty tidbits, including my favourites: tender lamb ribs and mini-burgers.
The vibe was friendly and relaxed with all kinds of interesting people to meet: we ran into MuchMusic's Sioban Grennan, cookbook author/journalist Rebecca Field Jager happily collecting material for her big city adventure as noted in The National Post, and Sneak Peek's Michael Stevens, in Toronto on a break from his Vancouver beat.

Little doubt that Grill Thursdays at SkyLounge is the place to be on those hot summer nights -- a great place to hang out with friends and especially, to meet new ones...
