Uma Joining "Eloise In Paris"...

Actress Uma "Kill Bill" Thurman will star in a film adaptation of the 1957 children's novel series "Eloise in Paris", by author Hillary Knight/illustrator Kay Thompson.

Thurman will play 'Nanny', the caretaker of title character 'Eloise'.

Production starts in June, shooting in London, Paris and New York.

Charles Shyer directs for Handmade Films, also writing the screenplay with his daughter Hallie Meyers-Shyer and Larry Spencer.

Handmade is looking towards a franchise of 'Eloise' movies with followup "Eloise Goes to Hollywood" in development.

Producers are Handmade's Patrick Meehan, Thomas D. Adelman and Ron Rotholz.
Worldwide sales will be handled by Handmade Films Intl., and the film is being offered at the European Film Market in Berlin.

Casting is currently underway for a fresh new actress to play the lead role.
