Warners "I Am Legend", directed by Francis "Constantine" Lawrence is based on author Richard Matheson's 1954 novel, focusing on 'Robert Neville', the only survivor of a pandemic who lives in a house fortified against nocturnal vampiric attacks, only venturing out during the day to stock up on supplies.
The "I Am Legend" screenplay is by Akiva Goldsman from a draft by Mark Protosevich. Goldsman produces with Erwin Stoff, David Heyman and Neal Moritz.
"I Am Legend" was previously adapted to film as "The Last Man on Earth" starring Vincent Price (1964) and "The Omega Man" (1971) starring Charlton Heston.
