According to reports, Weta Workshop have started preliminary SFX miniatures for the upcoming Peter "Lord of the Rings" Jackson-produced film "The Dam Busters".The feature will be based on the book by "The Great Escape" author Paul Brickhill and inspired by director Michael Anderson's 1954 Associated British Picture Corporation feature.
Christian Rivers, a shared Oscar-winner for Best Visual Effects on "King Kong", will direct for Jackson's Wingnut Films. Other producers involved include Jan Blenkin and Carolynne Cunningham, with Sir David Frost and Ken Kamins executive producing.Jackson said new details regarding the 1943 WW II events have since been declassified by the British Government.
