Gans Is Game For Onimusha

Director Christophe "Brotherhood of the Wolf" Gans, fresh off the success of his Ontario-shot, big screen video game adaptation 'Silent Hill", is in development on another games adaptation, titled "Onimusha", based on the PlayStation 2 action-adventure series by Capcom.

The game features a protagonist wielding the power of 'Oni', fighting the demonic 'Genma' race who are in league with evil historic Japanese figures attempting to control the world through supernatural means.

The game is a combination of third person combat and puzzle solving, with a system of 'absorbing' souls from defeated enemies to restore health and power-up weapons/armor capabilities.

Onimusha is Capcom's 4th biggest franchise, behind "Resident Evil", "Mega Man" and "Street Fighter".
