According to reports, director Martin Scorsese's in-progress doc about the "Rolling Stones" has struck a chord in Japan.Major distributor Tohokushinsha Film Corp. has paid low seven figures for the feature, currently being handled by Fortissimo in international territories.
The film is being financed by Steve Bing's Shangri-La Entertainment and Toronto-based Stones tour promoter Michael Cohl's Concert Prods. Intl.
Producers are Victoria Pearman, Cohl, Zane Weiner and Bing.
Exec producers are Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood, with Jane Rose as co-exec producer.
Paramount will release the film throughout North America, fall 2007.
