Casting Update For Spielberg's "Lincoln"

Actors Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill and Joseph Cross are in negotiations to join the cast of DreamWorks Studios' "Lincoln," according to DreamWorks partners Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider.

Also in negotiations to join the film are David Costabile, Byron Jennings, Dakin Matthews, Boris McGiver, Gloria Reuben, Jeremy Strong, and David Warshofsky. This group joins the previously announced casting of Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field in the Spielberg directed film about the 16th President of the United States.

Based on the best-selling book, "Team of Rivals", by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, the screenplay has been written by Pulitzer Prize winner, Tony Award winner and Oscar nominated writer Tony Kushner.

"Lincoln" will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Steven Spielberg, focusing on the political collision of Lincoln and the powerful men of his cabinet on the road to abolition and the end of the Civil War.

Oscar winner Tommy Lee Jones will play 'Thaddeus Stevens', a Republican leader and powerful congressman from Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives. Stevens was a staunch supporter of abolishing slavery and was critical to writing the legislation that funded the American Civil War.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt ("Inception") will take on the role of 'Robert Todd Lincoln', eldest son of President Lincoln and the only one to live past his teenage years.

Filming is expected to begin in the fall of 2011 in Virginia for release in the fourth quarter of 2012 through Disney’s Touchstone distribution label.

Things Get Hairy For MTV's "Teen Wolf"

Sneak Peek the latest key art supporting MTV's upcoming TV series "Teen Wolf", debuting Sunday, June 5, 2011.

The pilot premiere, directed by Russell Mulcahy ("Resident Evil: Extinction") follows the "MTV Movie Awards".

The 12-episode series follows young outsider 'Scott McCall', who wanders through the woods one night, only to be attacked by a snarling 'werewolf'. Scott escapes the gnarly attack with a few 'scratches', but starts to notice his body going through some big changes soon after.

Produced by Lost Marbles and MGM Television, "Teen Wolf" cast includes Tyler Posey as McCall, Colton Haynes as 'Jackson Whittmore', Crystal Reed as 'Allison', Tyler Hoechlin as 'Derek Hale', Dylan O'Brien as 'Stiles' and Holland Roden as 'Lydia'.

MTV said the series emphasizes "romance, horror and werewolf mythology".

Hither Came The "Conan The Barbarian" Trailer

Sneak Peek the new trailer supporting the upcoming 'sword 'n sorcery' 3D feature "Conan The Barbarian", based on the 1930's pulp magazine character 'Conan the Barbarian' created by author Robert E. Howard.

The new film stars Jason Momoa ("Stargate: Atlantis") in the lead role, co-starring Rose McGowan ("Charmed") , Stephen Lang ("Avatar"), Ron Perlman ("Hellboy"), Bob Sapp ("The Longest Yard") and Rachel Nichols ("Star Trek").

Directed by Marcus Nispel ("Pathfinder"), the film was seven years in development at Warner Bros. before rights were shifted in 2007 to Nu Image/Millennium Films.

"...'Conan' is a young 'Cimmerian' man cast adrift in the world by the death of his father and the destruction of his village.

"Driven by the need to avenge himself upon the evil 'Khalar Zym', Conan learns to steal, seduce, and fight his way to his goals.

The new film will be released by Lionsgate August 19, 2011.

"Star Wars Saga" On Blu-ray - September 16, 2011

The new nine-disc collection, "Star Wars: The Complete Saga " will be released on Blu-ray Disc from Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, September 16 across North America.

Restored masters of the classic Lucas sci fi films, offer quality high definition and 6.1 DTS Surround Sound, with over 40 hours of special features, highlighted by never-before-seen content sourced from the Lucasfilm archives.

The collection also features numerous deleted, extended and alternate scenes, new documentaries and a cross-section of "Star Wars" spoofs that have appeared in pop culture over the past three decades.

Marking the first time ever that the full "Saga" is available in one complete album, the collection also features a sneak peek into the making of the Blu-ray release with vintage documentaries, audio commentaries, behind-the-scenes moments, interviews, prop and costume turnarounds, retrospectives and a whole lot more.

Episodes I-III and IV-VI will also be available as distinct Blu-ray Trilogy collections.

Weisz Enchanted By "Oz: The Great And Powerful"

According to reports, Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz ("The Constant Gardener") is in negotiations with Disney to co-star in the new fantasy feature "Oz: The Great And Powerful", based on the public domain works of author L. Frank Baum, to be directed by Sam Raimi ("Spider-Man").

Cast confirmed to date includes James Franco ("Spider-Man") and Mila Kunis ("Black Swan").

Weisz will play 'Evanora', the mean witch sister of 'Theodora' (Kunis).

Screenplay for "Oz: The Great And Powerful" is by Mitchell Kapner ("Romeo Must Die") and David Lindsay-Abaire ("Rabbit Hole") for producer Joe Roth.

Principal photography will start this summer.

"Anonymous": Was Shakespeare A Fraud ?

Meryl Streep Is "The Iron Lady"

"The Iron Lady", a new bio-pic about former British PM Margaret Thatcher, starring Academy Award-winners Meryl Streep as 'Lady Thatcher' and Jim Broadbent as 'Denis Thatcher', recently completed a shooting stint at Pinewood Studios UK.

"Shooting 'The Iron Lady' at Pinewood Studios was an immensely enjoyable experience," said the film's producer Damian Jones ("The History Boys").

"Pinewood is well known for attracting large, international productions to the Studios but we always take great pride in hosting British productions," said Andrew M Smith, Group Corporate Affairs Director at Pinewood Studios.

"The chance to work with home grown talent is fantastic and the cast and crew on 'The Iron Lady' demonstrated while they were here, why the UK remains at the forefront of the global film industry."

"The prospect of exploring the swathe cut through history by this remarkable woman is a daunting and exciting challenge," said Streep.
