Reynolds Rests In Peace With The "RIPD"

Canadian actor (with no drawling American accent) Ryan Reynolds, currently prepping to play DC Comics superhero "The Green Lantern", has also signed to play in the Neil Moritz produced Dark Horse Comics graphic novel adaptation, "RIPD", set to start shooting January 2011.

"It’s about two cops," said Moritz about "RIPD" .

"One recently dead and a gunslinger who’s been dead for hundreds of years that work on the 'Rest in Peace' department - which is the police department of the dead. It takes place on a normal day and it’s about trying to keep the spirits quiet."

"Captain America" Finds 'Bucky Barnes'

Actor Sebastian Stan ("Hot Tub Time Machine") has now been cast to play the 'sidekick' of 'Captain America', in director Joe Johnston's upcoming feature "Captain America", based on the Marvel Comics superhero, created in the 1940's by Joe Simon and Jack "King" Kirby. The new film starts shooting June 2010, set for a summer 2011 release.

The original 'James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes' debuted in "Captain America Comics" #1 (March 1941), published by Marvel's 1940's predecessor Timely Comics.

In 2005, the original Bucky was brought back from supposed death as the 'Winter Soldier', becoming 'Captain America' in 2008, after the death of 'Steve Rogers'.

Following his debut, Bucky Barnes appeared alongside Captain America in virtually every story in Captain America Comics and other Timely Comics series, also appearing in Timely/Marvel's first superhero group, the "All-Winners Squad". After Bucky was shot and seriously wounded in a 1948 Captain America story, he was succeeded by Captain America's girlfriend 'Betsy Ross', who became the super heroine 'Golden Girl'.

Stake Out "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse"

Sneak Peek new images from "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse", the Vancouver-lensed romantic-fantasy film scheduled for release June 30, 2010, based on author Stephenie Meyer's "Eclipse" novel and the third installment of "The Twilight Saga" film series, following 2008's "Twilight" and 2009's "New Moon".

Directed by David Slade, the new feature stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprising their roles as 'Bella Swan', 'Edward Cullen' and 'Jacob Black'.

"...As Seattle is ravaged by a string of crimes and a malicious 'vampire' continues her quest for revenge, 'Bella' once again finds herself surrounded by danger. "Iron Man 2": Stark Expo 1974

Sneak Peek the father (John Slattery) of 'Tony Stark' aka 'Iron Man', featured in a new 'viral video', profiling "The Stark Expo 1974".

"Iron Man 2", is based on the Marvel Comics superhero character, from Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures.

The new film is a sequel to the 2008 action feature "Iron Man", and the second film in a planned trilogy.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the film stars Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as 'Tony Stark', an industrialist and master engineer.

"...The world is now aware that billionaire inventor 'Tony Stark' (Downey Jr.) is the armored superhero 'Iron Man'. Sneak Peek the upcoming DC Comics adaptation "The Losers".

"Alternate Realities"

"Alternate Realities" from Anchor Bay Entertainment Canada, is a new, classic science fiction film collection, to be released on several DVDs, beginning April 6.

Sneak Peek "The A-Team"

Sneak Peek the new poster AND trailer supporting the Vancouver-lensed feature "The A-Team", adapting the classic TV series to the big screen, from director Joe Carnahan ("Narc").

The new film will be released in North America June 11, 2010 by 20th Century Fox, from producers Sir Ridley and Tony Scott.

The plot involves a shift from Vietnam to the Middle East, with Jules Daly and series creator Stephen J. Cannell also involved in the project.

According to writer Michael Brandt, the adaptation is more gritty in its depiction of violence, in the vein of "Die Hard" and "Casino Royale".

As in the original series, "The A-Team" follows the adventures of three US soldiers who were arrested for a crime they did not commit. After managing to escape from military prison, the three join forces with 'Captain H.M. Murdock', their reconnaissance pilot, as a team of soldiers of fortune.

Cast includes Liam "Darkman" Neeson as 'Col. John "Hannibal" Smith, Bradley Cooper as 'Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck', Quinton Jackson as 'Sgt. B.A. "Bad Attitude" Baracus', Sharlto Copley as 'Capt. H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock', Jessica Biel as 'Lt. Carissa Sosa', Patrick Wilson as 'Lynch' and Gerald McRaney as 'General Morrison'.

Hyde Park Convinces "The Persuaders!"

Hyde Park Entertainment continues to develop a feature film version of the British TV series "The Persuaders !", produced by Ashok Amritraj, for director Peter Howitt ("Johnny English"). The feature will be the first to be produced in association with Imagenation Abu Dhabi.

"The Persuaders !" 1971 action/adventure series was produced by ITC Entertainment for broadcast on ITV and ABC, considered at the time, "the most ambitious and most expensive of Sir Lew Grade's international action adventure series", starring Roger Moore and Tony Curtis.

The show ended after one season, running from September 1971 to February 1972, releasing Moore to star as 'James Bond' in a series of big budget features.

Despite its focus on the British/American markets, the show was popular throughout Europe, with both Moore and Curtis decorated in Germany and France for their acting.

The character of 'Danny Wilde' (Curtis) is described as a 'rough diamond', educated and moulded in the back slums of New York City, who escaped by enlisting in the US Navy, later becoming a millionaire in the oil business.

'Lord Brett Sinclair' (Moore) is a Harrow/Oxford educated English aristocrat and ex-racing car driver.

The globe-trotting playboys, meet on holiday in the French Riviera, instantly disliking each other and destroying a hotel bar in a fist-fight. Arrested, they are delivered to retired 'Judge Fulton' who offers them the choice of spending ninety days in jail or helping him to 'right errors of impunity'. Grudgingly, Wilde and Sinclair agree to help solve Fulton's initial case. He then releases them from any threat of jail. The duo are soon stumbling into more adventures, sometimes by chance, sometimes due again to Judge Fulton.
