Kristen Stewart is “Sally Ride”

Amazon MGM Studios has officially greenlit “The Challenger”, a limited dranatic TV series starring actress Kristen Stewart as astronaut, physicist ‘Sally Ride’, who in 1978 became the first and youngest American woman to fly in space:

Ride joined ‘NASA’ in 1978, and in 1983 became the first American woman and the third woman to fly in space, after cosmonauts Valentina Tereshkova in 1963 and Svetlana Savitskaya in 1982. 

She was the youngest American astronaut to have flown in space, at the age of 32.

In 2019, Mattel released a collectible ‘Barbie’ doll in Ride's likeness as part of their "Inspiring Women" series.
