Released January 29, 2025 in Mainland China, at the start of the “Year of the Snake’, the China-produced animated fantasy sequel “Ne Zha 2” (“The Demon Child Churns the Sea”), written and directed by Jiaozi, has so far earned ‘Domestic’ $19,625,569 and ‘International’ $2,064,556,352, for a ‘Worldwide’ theatrical box office total of $2,084,181,921, setting a 32-day record as the highest-grossing animated feature in history:
