“The Penguin” TV Series

Take a look at actor Colin Farrell, unrecognizable as the star of “The Penguin” live-action TV series, currently in post-production, created by Lauren LeFranc and directed by Craig Zobel, based on DC Comics’ characters, streaming Fall 2024 on Max:

“…taking place one week following the events of ‘The Batman’ movie  (2022)…

‘…the new series explores the rise to power of ‘Oswald Cobblepot’ / ‘Penguin’ in the ‘Gotham City' criminal underworld…”

…who became a disfigured crime lord and the former chief lieutenant of crime boss 'Carmine Falcone' …

‘…who is on the rise to becoming a criminal kingpin in his own right..."

Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, 'Penguin' debuted in "Detective Comics" #58 (December 1941).

He is often presented as a gentleman of crime...

...often developing elaborate schemes...

...while presenting himself as innocent of many of his activities.

An eccentric criminal mastermind...

....he is well-known for his love of ornithology and use of technology-fitted umbrellas.

More modern depictions have shown him as the manager of the 'Iceberg Lounge'...

...a popular nightclub which serves as a front for his illegal activities.
