While 2022 has been and continues to be an excellent year for movies, it's often the case that film buffs are looking at what's to come in the future. And is there anything better than sequels on movie screens? It looks like 2023 could very much be the year of the hit sequel:
Scream 6 is the temporary title of the untiled Scream sequel that is due to be released March 31, 2023 in the sixth instalment in what will be- come a six-long collection of Scream movies, and it will directly follow on from 2022’s re- lease. Of course, the story will pick up where it left off, with those who have survived the Ghostface killings heading to New York City to make a fresh start.
John Wick: Chapter 4
The John Wick film series is one of the most successful in the modern era. It's one of those that has been far-reaching, with other forms of entertainment benefiting the fran- chise. The movie has inspired slots, with the growth of online casino games accelerating as a result. And, on March 23, 2023, all that is set to happen again when Keanu Reeves reprises his role as John Wick. And, with all the previous chapters being well re- ceived, viewers should see the hitman raise the bar in the latest instalment once again.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Marvel movies are always big news, as are those containing superheroes, so Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is sure to tick a lot of boxes when it’s released on May 5, 2023. For any- one who is already fully invested in all things Guardian of the Galaxy, they’ll be pleased to know that the likes of Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Vin Diesel as Groot and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, will all be returning. And they’ll again be attempting to guard the galaxy against those who want to purge it.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2
Ghostbusters is just one of those legendary film franchises, isn’t it? It’s been around for decades. It’s inspired TV shows, video games and more. And recently, it made a successful return to the big screen via Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The critical acclaim it received led to the sequel being made, and it’s going to hit cinemas at the end of next year on December 20, 2023. Again, the latest instalment will explore how a family is directly related to the Ghostbusters of the past.
Now, 2023 is going to be a massive year for sequels and movies in general. But look out for the four films mentioned above. They're sure to be box office winners because they come from popular film franchises that hit all the right notes.
