“Maestro” - New Images

Currently in production, the Leonard Bernstein biopic "Maestro", is directed by and starring Bradley Cooper, from a screenplay he co-wrote, for producers Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese and Todd Phillips:

"...the new film will focus on the 30-year relationship between Bernstein and his wife Chilean-born actress 'Montealegre', his conducting debut at the New York Philharmonic at age 25...

"...his blacklisting as a communist, then being cleared before he composed the Oscar-nominated score for 'On the Waterfront'...

"...his rousing score for 'The Great Escape', his worldwide fame for 'West Side Story', his,activism in the civil rights movement and outspoken views on ending the Vietnam War..."
