"Animal Farm" on Netflix

Andy Serkis ("Mowgli") will direct a live-action, performance capture adaptation of author George Orwell's 1945 novel "Animal Farm", to be produced by Serkis and Matt Reeves ("Dawn of the Planet of the Apes") for streaming on Netflix:

"...with it's parallels to today's left wing lies and destructive socialist hypocrisy, Orwell's 'Animal Farm' was written as an allegory for the 'Russian Revolution' (1917) leading into the deadly 'Stalinist Era' of the 'Soviet Union', with farm animals taking the place of historical figures.

"'Old Major', the aging boar on the 'Manor Farm', summons the animals on the farm together for a meeting, during which he slanders all humans.

"When Major dies, two young pigs, 'Snowball' and 'Napoleon', assume command and consider it a duty to prepare for the 'Rebellion'.

"The animals revolt, driving the drunken, irresponsible farmer 'Mr. Jones', as well as 'Mrs. Jones' and the other human caretakers and employees, off the farm, now renamed 'Animal Farm'.

"Years pass and Animal Farm expands its boundaries after Napoleon purchases two fields from a neighboring farmer.

"Life for all the animals, except the pig leadership is harsh. Eventually, the pigs begin walking on their hind legs and take on many other qualities of their former human 'oppressors'.

"Finally, 'Seven Commandments' to keep the animals in line, is reduced to a single law: 'All Animals Are Equal/But Some Are More Equal Than Others'..."
