Kate Herron ("Five by Five") directs actor Tom Hiddleston in Marvel Studios' upcoming six-episode, six-hour "Loki" live-action TV series, that will tie into the feature "Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness", streaming exclusively on Disney+ Spring 2021:
"...'Loki' the demigod 'Asgardian' half-brother of 'Thor' was killed in 'Avengers: Endgame', but the 'Loki' from the 2012 timeline, returned by time-traveling 'Avengers' in 'Avengers: Endgame'...
"...will act as the series' protagonist, following Thor's troubled adopted brother throughout human history as an unlikely influencer on historical events."
Created by writer Stan Lee, scripter Larry Lieber and illustrator Jack Kirby, a version of the character first appeared in Marvel Comics "Venus #6 (August 1949).
The modern day incarnation of Loki first appeared in Marvel's "Journey into Mystery" #85 (October 1962).
The character, which is based on the Norse deity of the same name, is the Asgardian god of mischief.
He is the adopted brother and often enemy of the superhero Thor, however over the years the character has been depicted as an antihero.
Hiddleston has played the 'Loki' character "Thor" (2011) "The Avengers" (2012), "Thor: The Dark World" (2013), "Thor: Ragnarok" (2017), "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame".
