"I, Claudius"

Development continues on producer Scott Rudin's feature adaptation of author Robert Graves historical novel "I, Claudius", scripted by Oscar-winning writer William Monahan ("The Departed"):

...the book recounts the history of the 'Roman Empire' as narrated by 'Claudius', a member of the imperial family who became emperor in 41 A.D..."

The BBC turned Graves' novel into an Emmy-winning 13-part miniseries (1976), starring Derek Jacobi as 'Claudius'.
