"Ride Like A Girl"

"Ride Like A Girl", is director Rachel Griffiths' Australian-shot, horse racing feature, following the true story of 'Michelle J. Payne', winner of the 2015 'Melbourne Cup', as the first female jockey to win the event, starring Teresa Palmer, Sam Neill and Sullivan Stapleton:

Payne won the Melbourne Cup on November 3, 2015, riding 'Prince of Penzance', a six-year-old gelding, trained with a focus on galloping, plus a consistent horse-jockey relationship.

"It's not all about strength," said Payne about her win at the time. "There is so much more involved, getting the horse to try for you.

It's being patient."

Payne's victory was a total surprise for bookmakers, with "Prince of Penzance' a long odds chance at 100–1.
