"...for years, 'Carol Danvers' has been at the front lines, protecting Earth and her fellow heroes from harm. Then one visit to her childhood home changed everything.

"Now her brother's in a coma, and until he's safe, 'Captain Marvel'...is standing down. But while Carol may not be looking for danger, it's looking for her.

"A weapon has been unleashed. And Carol's sleepy coastal town is about to become the center of its world..."

"The Life of Captain Marvel" #1, now available is written by Margaret Stohl and illustrated by Carlos Pacheco, with covers by Julian Totino Tedesco, Artgerm , Joe Quesada, Fiona Staples and Sana Takeda.

"...'Carol Danvers' was just a girl from the Boston suburbs who loved science and the 'Red Sox' until a chance encounter with an alien 'Kree' gave her incredible super-powers.

"Now, she's a leader in the 'Avengers' and the commander of 'Alpha Flight'. But what if there were more to the story?

"When crippling anxiety attacks put her on the sidelines in the middle of a fight, Carol finds herself reliving memories of a life she thought was far behind her.

"You can't outrun where you're from -- and sometimes, you have to go home again. But there are skeletons in the closet of 'Captain Marvel' and what she discovers will change her entire world..."

"I spent months thinking about whether or not I was going to do the film," said Larson...

"...and I realized that it was a chance to tell a story on the largest scale possible.

"I know it is going to make me lose some of the things I love most about my life, but I think it’s worth it.

"I find that the projects I enjoy signing up to at the moment are with a director who's interested in the script...

"... isn't completely sure what the movie is and isn't concerned about it.

"He's just interested in going on the journey and discovering it.

"We have to choose every day to be active participants. To wake up in the morning and choose this life and make something of it is an incredible thing.

"Not many living creatures have that option. We have so many opportunities and options - it's a huge burden, but it's also the most freeing part of our lives..."
