"Terminator 6" Updates

"Terminator 6", to be produced by James Cameron, directed by Tim Miller ("Deadpool"), starring Linda Hamilton as 'Sarah Connor' and Arnold Schwarzenegger as the 'T-800' machine, will be the first feature in a new trilogy, as a direct sequel to "Terminator 2: Judgment Day", targeting a March 2018 production start:

Director Tim Miller has assembled the best of his "Deadpool" crew including Second Unit Director Philip J Silvera, Art Director Lucienne Suren and DP Ken Seng.

The film will shoot on sets in Europe to replicate the setting of New Mexico, focusing on new character 'Dani Ramos' a teenage Mexican girl.

Assembling a 'writers room' , Cameron has brought in screenwriter Billy Ray ("The Hunger Games"), David Goyer, Justin Rhodes, and Josh Friedman to craft the new script, with Ray 'polishing' the material,  conceived by Cameron, Miller and Skydance founder David Ellison.

Cameron said the new trilogy will have "...predator drones and actual discussions...

"...on the ethics of having a robot have its own kill decision possibilities..."

"When I became aware of the fact that I could back into a control position on the rights, I started to ask myself artistically, 'Is there anything there?

"Is there anything to be said that I haven’t already said, and that would even be relevant in the 2020's ?

"I thought, 'Well, let’s look at that'. I mean, a lot of the things that were science fiction in 'Terminator' are now around us…"

As for Schwarzenegger’s character, Cameron said "...there could be a reason all the 'Terminators' looked like the same person...

"...based on a man whose 'DNA' was used to create the robot's human appearance.

"But who was this man, and what was his relationship to 'Skynet'?..."

"I think James Cameron and Tim Miller came up with a concept where they can continue on with the 'T-800' but make a whole new movie," said Schwarzenegger.

"What they are doing now with this one is basically to just take a few very basic characters, like Linda Hamilton's character and my character, and dismiss everything else.

"Just move away from all these rules of the timeline and other characters..."

Actor Edward Furlong ("Canes") who played young 'John Connor' in "T2", should but probably will not be in consideration for the new film...

...after years of film acting roles and struggles with substance abuse.

Furlong could be in the gym, along with 'seasoned warrior' Linda Hamilton...

...until the new film's production start date shooting in Spain and Hungary.
