Oscar winner Nicole Kidman is now confirmed to play 'Queen Atlanna', the mother of 'Aquaman' in director James Wan's stand-alone comic book adaption "Aquaman", starring Jason Momoa:
"...created by Robert Bernstein and Ramona Fradon for DC's "Adventure Comics" #260 (1959) 'Atlanna' is a member of the 'Atlantean Royal Family' and the mother of 'Aquaman'.
"In her first origin stories she left 'Atlantis' to travel abroad, but was almost killed in a raging hurricane. Her unconscious body was found by 'Tom Curry', an ex-sailor, now lonely lighthouse keeper.
"Tom nursed her back to health, then made love with the princess, until they had a son 'Arthur Curry'.
"She kept her Royal Atlantean origins secret, until on her deathbed, she confessed the truth about her life to Tom and young Arthur..."
