Marvel has confirmed that superhero 'Captain America' will get his own 75th anniversary TV special, titled "Marvel's Captain America: 75 Heroic Years", directed by Zac Knutson, airing January 19, 2016 on ABC, following "Marvel's Agent Carter" Season Two premiere:
".... the special one-hour event follows the history of 'Captain America' from 1941 to present and explores how the character has been a reflection of the changing times and the world he has existed in throughout the years.
"Fans will hear from various Marvel luminaries including Stan Lee, Joe Quesada, Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Jeph Loeb, Louis D’Esposito, Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell, as well as family members of Cap's creators.
"Created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, 'Captain America' debuted in 1941's "Captain America Comics" #1, as a superheroic symbol of America's fight in World War II.
"The character then experienced a renaissance with 1964's "Avengers" #4 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, which brought the character into the contemporary era but kept his WWII origins...."
