Sneak Peek newly leaked images of actor Jon Bernthal ("The Walking Dead") as Marvel Comics' vigilante 'Frank Castle' aka 'The Punisher', during an action sequence on the Season 2 set of the Marvel/Netflix TV series "Daredevil":
"Marvel's Daredevil", based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, is set in the 'Marvel Cinematic Universe', sharing continuity with the films of the franchise, and noted as the first in a series of shows that will lead up to a 'Defenders' crossover miniseries.
'The Punisher' was created by writer Gerry Conway and illustrators John Romita, Sr., and Ross Andru, debuting in Marvel Comics' "The Amazing Spider-Man" #129 (Feb. 1974).
"...driven by the deaths of his wife and two children, who were killed by the mob during a shootout in New York City's Central Park, the Punisher wages a one-man war on the underworld and all criminals in general by using all manner of conventional war weaponry.
"A war veteran of the US military, Frank Castle is a master of martial arts, stealth tactics, guerrilla warfare, and a wide variety of weapons..."
"Daredevil" is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios, DeKnight Prods. and Goddard Textiles, with Steven S. DeKnight serving as showrunner on the first season, and Goddard acting as consultant. Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez will take over as showrunners for the show's second season.
