Sneak Peek a new synopsis for director Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse", the next film in the Fox movie franchise based on Marvel Comics mutant superhero characters, following "X-Men: Days of Future Past", with a screenplay written by Simon Kinberg based on a story by Singer, Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris:
"...'Apocalypse' takes place a decade after 'Days of Future Past' and is a seamless next step in the story. The altering of time has unleashed a new and uniquely powerful enemy.
"'Charles' (James McAvoy), 'Erik'/'Magneto' (Michael Fassbender), 'Raven'/'Mystique' (Jennifer Lawrence), 'Wolverine' (Hugh Jackman) and 'Hank'/'Beast' (Nicholas Hoult) are joined by young 'Cyclops', 'Storm', 'Jean' and many others as the 'X-Men' must fight their most formidable foe yet – an ancient unrelenting force determined to cause an apocalypse unlike any in human history..."
'Apocalypse' is an ancient mutant that debuted in Marvel Comics "X-Factor" #5 (May 1986), created by writer Louise Simonson and "Thor" illustrator Walt Simonson. The character has since appeared in several "X-Men" comic book spin-offs, limited series, Marvel merchandise, animation, toys, trading cards and games.
Born 5,000 years ago in 'Akkaba', Apocalypse appeared throughout history, encouraging civilizations to worship him as a god, manipulating them into fighting wars of conquest.
At some point, Apocalypse discovers advanced alien technology, transforming and enhancing himself, entering states of suspended animation.
