Calfornia governor Jerry Brown has signed into law a $330 million annual tax credit program, to start next year until 2020. 'Bill AB 1839' will now enable the state to lure productions back to Hollywood, as film producers continue to look for the best deal for their buck:
The $330 million amount is triple the $100 million annual funding currently distributed via lottery.
California in recent years has lost film and TV production work to other states with enticing tax credits, including Georgia ("The Walking Dead")...
...Louisiana ("Duck Dynasty")...
...and Canadian cities including Vancouver ("Arrow") and Montreal ("X-Men: Days Of Future Past").
