Marvel's "Daredevil" Casts The 'Kingpin'



Marvel Studios' new TV series "Daredevil", based on Marvel Comics' blind superhero has cast a veteran actor to play super-villain, the 'Kingpin':


Actor Vincent D’Onofrio ("Full Metal Jacket") has joined the cast of Marvel’s Daredevil as the 'Kingpin of Crime', 'Wilson Fisk'. D’Onofrio is also known for his character work in "Men in Black" and "The Player".



Kingpin will appear in the series as a businessman with an interest in 'Hell’s Kitchen', the home turf of 'Matt Murdock'.


The character first appeared in "The Amazing Spider-Man" #50, becoming a recurring adversary of both 'Spider-Man' and 'Daredevil'.



"We’re incredibly proud to have an actor with the gravitas and versatility of Vincent joining 'Marvel’s Daredevil' in such an integral role," said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. "Wilson Fisk is an iconic villain whose cunning and power make him the dangerous equal of our hero..."



"Daredevil" will debut on Netflix in 2015.
