Created by Jim Starlin for Marvel Comics, the character debuted in Marvel's "Strange Tales" #180 (June 1975), as the adopted daughter of supervillain 'Thanos'.
Her powers include superhuman strength and agility and an accelerated healing factor.
Gamora played a role in the 2007 crossover comic book event "Annihilation: Conquest" and became a member of the spin-off comic, "Guardians of the Galaxy".
She received treatments from Thanos that enhanced her speed, strength, agility, and durability...

...also helping her to become a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, trained in martial arts techniques from various planets.
She also uses a wide variety of weaponry, most notably a dagger with unknown properties.
