Director Peyton Reed ("Yes Men"), currently prepping Marvel Studios' "Ant-Man" for a shooting start in less than 2 months, will follow that film with another comic book adaptation, that has been in development for 10 years:
Reed will direct Dark Horse Comics' "The Fifth Beatle", based on a screenplay and 'Eisner'-nominated graphic novel from creator Vivek Tiwary.
"Our director is doing 'Ant-Man' and that's an exciting thing for us," said Tiwary.
"With 'The Fifth Beatle', we are casting right now. As you know, it's been a decade that we've been working on it. We're doing it slowly and carefully. 'Ant-Man' is scheduled to shoot I think in 7 weeks.
"There's no way 'The Fifth Beatle' would film this year, so there's no way the two will conflict. If anything, it's great to say that Peyton is doing a huge superhero movie and we're going to be his first movie after that.
"Putting my producer hat on for a minute, Peyton's value as a director has risen considerably..."
