"X-Men: Days Of Future Past": Enter 'Mystique'

Sneak Peek new footage of Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence as the shape-shifting "X-Men" mutant character 'Mystique' in the 3D Fox feature, "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" :

"Days Of Future Past" adapts Marvel Comics' "Uncanny X-Men" (1981) issues #141 and #142, written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by John Byrne.

'Mystique' aka 'Raven Darkhölme', was created by writer Chris Claremont and illustrator David Cockrum debuting in Marvel Comics' "Ms. Marvel" #16.

Throughout most of her history, Mystique has been a supervillain, founding her own 'Brotherhood of Mutants' and assassinating several important people involved in mutant affairs.

Mystique herself is a mutant, a shapeshifter whose natural appearance includes blue skin and yellow eyes. At one point, she mentions that she is over 100 years old and the mother of the villain 'Graydon Creed', the X-Men hero 'Nightcrawler' and adoptive mother of 'Rogue'.

Despite her history of crime, she works with 'Professor X' and is later voted straight into the 'X-Men' superhero team.

"Days Of Future Past" alternates between present day, in which the 'X-Men' fight the 'Brotherhood of Evil Mutants' led by 'Mystique' (Lawrence)...

...and a future timeline caused by the X-Men's failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating 'Senator Robert Kelly' :
