"The Walking Dead": Update On 'The Governor'

With speculation that villain 'The Governor' (David Morrissey) may return to AMC's ultra-violent 'zombie' TV series "The Walking Dead", take another look @ images from the mid-season finale episode "Too Far Gone", written by Seth Hoffman and directed by Ernest Dickerson, that aired December 1, 2013, showing the character's ultimate fate:

The Governor appeared in 21 episodes of the series (2012-2014), but in "Too Far Gone", he is stabbed in the back by sword-swinging 'Michonne' (Danai Gurira).

As the Governor falls to the ground, with 'walkers' approaching, the character 'Lilly' (Audrey Marie Anderson) shoots him, presumably in the head, but the camera cuts away.

But in images released by AMC, the Governor is revealed with a fatal bullet wound in his forehead, that will save him from becoming a walker.
