Actor Evan Jonigkeit recently revealed the name of the Marvel Comics' super-villain that he plays in director Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Days Of Future Past":
"I found out the storyline of my character...who is 'Toad'", said Jonigkeit.
"'X-Men' fans will know that Ray Park played him in the first movie, so it's a generation story of how he came to be. It's really cool.
"The aesthetics of the character are much different, and I'm not really allowed to say a whole lot more than that. It's darker. I would say it's a darker tone..."
'Toad' aka 'Mortimer Toynbee' was created by writer Stan Lee and illustrator/co-writer Jack Kirby, debuting in "X-Men" #4 (March 1964).
Originally a mutant with a superhuman leaping ability, Toad was the servant of 'Magneto' in the 1960's line-up of the 'Brotherhood of Evil Mutants'.
Actor Ray Park played a significantly different version of Toad in 2000's "X-Men" film, with superhuman leaping ability, agility, toxic saliva, prehensile tongue and wall-scaling abilities.
